The University of Lübeck has received funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a new research training group in the field of immunology. Starting in spring 2026, doctoral students led by Prof. Dr. Rudolf Manz from the Institute for Systemic Inflammation Research (ISEF) at the University of Lübeck and Prof. Dr. Stefanie Derer-Petersen from the Institute for Nutritional Medicine at the University of Lübeck will investigate how antibodies are produced that have both protective and pathogenic effects on the skin, intestines, and lungs. The program offers structured and interdisciplinary training with a special focus on bioinformatics. The expertise is complemented by project leaders from Christian Albrecht University of Kiel (CAU), which is involved as a co-applicant university.

Die Universität Lübeck hat von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) Fördermittel für eine neue Forschungsgruppe im Bereich der Immunologie erhalten. Ab Frühjahr 2026 werden Doktoranden unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Rudolf Manz vom Institut für Systemische Entzündungsforschung (ISEF) der Universität Lübeck und Prof. Dr. Stefanie Derer-Petersen vom Institut für Ernährungsmedizin der Universität Lübeck untersuchen, wie Antikörper entstehen, die sowohl schützende als auch pathogene Wirkungen auf Haut, Darm und Lunge haben. Das Programm bietet eine strukturierte und interdisziplinäre Ausbildung mit einem besonderen Schwerpunkt auf Bioinformatik. Ergänzt wird die Expertise durch Projektleiter der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), die als Mitantragstellerin beteiligt ist.
